Through lens based media and installation, I investigate how representation shapes our understanding of identity and construct meaning through observation. My work is about seeing, observing and feeling, and explores a broad spectrum of emotional states. I create work that invites emotional responses from viewers and encourage them to engage with perspectives and experiences beyond their own.
Ambiguity plays an important role throughout my practice, creating space for the viewer to navigate uncertainty. Rather than providing definitive answers, I aim to open multiple viewings and personal engagement with what is perceived, experienced, and understood.
Across medium and series, these ideas remain a consistent thread throughout my practice. Through representation, emotion, and ambiguity, I explore the complexities of identity, and the relationships between artwork, subject, and viewer.
