Deep within the rainforest of northern Guatemala, the remains of an ancient Maya city rise from the landscape, monumental structures built to express power, belief, memory, and connection to the cosmos. Centuries later, the forest has reclaimed much of what was constructed, obscuring and revealing the city in equal measure.

This series explores the once powerful and thriving civilization, documenting human artifacts intertwined with the natural world. I seek to capture the presence and energy shaped by generations of rituals. The series is an act of meditation and reflection on the passage of time and the enduring connection between those who came before us, the places they inhabited, and the natural world that continues to hold their energy.
